Northern Tool & Gear Company Limited (NTG), established in 1945 and based in Arbroath, Scotland, is a privately owned UK contract manufacturer specialising in custom precision gears and shafts. With a dedicated manufacturing team of 48 employees within a 38,000 sq ft facility, NTG offers a comprehensive "one-stop operation" for gearing components.

NTG's extensive capabilities include the production of a wide array of gear types such as spur, helical, straight bevel, spiral, and hypoid gears, utilising advanced CNC machining, gear hobbing, grinding, and finishing processes. They work with materials including steel, cast iron, brass, bronze, stainless steel, and aluminium, and can manufacture gears from 0.5mm to 22mm module and spiral bevel gears up to 750mm in diameter. The company serves diverse industries ranging from Renewables and Mining to Aerospace and Medical Devices.

Holding ISO 9001:2015 accreditation, NTG also provides specialist gearbox refurbishment and general engineering services. Their in-house facilities include CNC gear checking and on-site heat treatment, encompassing processes like gas carburising and hardening. Notable project evidence includes the design and manufacture of a helical gear assembly for a vehicle test rig for a high-profile auto manufacturer, featuring 500mm helical gears and an 800mm shaft, which met an 18-month warranty for gear wear life.
