MMD Summerfield Ltd, formerly Summerfield Engineering, is a well-established UK contract manufacturer with a strong heritage dating back to 1967. Strategically located on the Cotes Park Industrial Estate in Alfreton, Derbyshire, the company benefits from excellent transport links via the M1 and A38. MMD Summerfield Ltd specialises in precision CNC and manual sub-contract machining, handling a broad spectrum of component sizes from a few kilos up to 20 tonnes, and batch sizes ranging from single units to 100.

The company boasts extensive machining capabilities, encompassing horizontal and vertical boring, turning, milling, jig boring, drilling, and splining. Their advanced equipment includes CNC machining centres, horizontal borers, and vertical borers with impressive capacities, alongside CNC milling/boring machines and radial arm drilling. MMD Summerfield Ltd works with both customer-supplied materials and sourced steel, utilising CAD/CAM software for programming and Faro inspection arms for rigorous quality control.

MMD Summerfield Ltd holds BS EN ISO 9001:2015 accreditation, complemented by recent ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications achieved in 2024. Since 2023, the company has been an integral part of the global Mining Machinery Developments (MMD) group, a relationship built on over four decades of collaboration.
